Background
In an interview with Showtime Celebrity, Tiwa said she had doubts about the song's longevity. In the same interview, she spoke about the song's composition, saying: "I think issues are universal.
Even though Kele Kele is Nigerian, it’s something that anyone can easily know because it’s universal."
Furthermore, Tiwa said that "Kele Kele Love" is a mixture of her experiences as well as the experiences of others. In the aforementioned interview, Tiwa also said that the expectations she got from her first release was greater than expected.
Music video
The music video for the single was shot and directed in Los Angeles by Jerry Chan. It was co-directed by Tiwa and Tee Billz. The music video was uploaded to Tiwa Savage's Vevo account on April 6, 2011, and to her YouTube account on July 28, 2011.
